These Cars Have the Coolest Interiors for 2024 (2024)

The Honda Civic might be an economy car, but that hasn't stopped Honda's design team from hitting a home run from an interior design perspective.

Every part of the Civic Type R's cabin is perfectly laid out, nice to look at, and pleasant to the touch. From the physical volume and climate knobs to the perfect shifter feel, it's just about flawless. There's also the bright red seats, which deliver plenty of lateral support.

When it comes to ergonomics, no company does driving position better than Porsche. The 911 is the best example, with enough adjustment available to deliver a perfectly comfortable seating position for people of all heights.

The dash layout and touch points are good too, with lots of throwback touches and nice materials. And because it's a 911, there are back seats for moving children or adults (for short stints). When the seats aren't in use, there's tons of room for luggage.

If your goal is to be chauffeured around in ultimate luxury, there is no better vehicle on sale today than the Rolls-Royce Phantom. It is the absolute pinnacle of luxury motoring, designed with the singular goal of transporting occupants in supreme comfort and relaxation.

There's more sound deadening than you'd find in a sound-proof music studio, and acres upon acres of the finest leather. On the floor you'll find thick wool that's soft enough to sink your feet into.

The BMW iX might not look very enticing from the outside, but once you step inside, you'll fall in love. The cabin feels like it was lifted straight out of a concept car, with lots of fascinating design aspects that draw you in, like the two-tone seats and the curved screen.

The lack of a driveshaft means there's lots of leg space and plenty of room for cargo.

Price: $159,995

The BMW XM is the first M car not to be based on a more pedestrian model from the BMW lineup since the legendary mid-engine M1 supercar of the Eighties. It gets a unique interior layout with tons of funky options, plus a fun "prism structure" in place of a sunroof.

The rear seating area is called the "M Lounge," but instead of individual bucket seats you'll find a laid back couch-like bench for occupants, perfect for kicking back and relaxing.

The Bentley Continental GT is the best daily driver you can buy, hands-down. With a base price nearing a quarter-million dollars, it had better be.

The Lexus LC500 is a bright ray of hope in the ever-shrinking grand tourer segment. While the exterior design is the star of the show, don't discount the cabin. It's spacious, elegant, and covered in nice leather.

We suggest going for a 2024 model or later, as that's the year Lexus got rid of its widely unpopular touchpad controls in favor of a more usable touchscreen design.

Here's what you should know about the LC500

The Toyota Century is only sold in Japan, and that's a shame. It's one of the most luxurious vehicles on the planet, built to shuttle important businessmen around Tokyo in ultimate comfort.

Unlike most other luxury cars, which are coated front to back in leather, the Century uses a high-end cloth material for the cabin. We wish every automaker would do this, because we love cloth interiors, no matter the price.

There's also an SUV version

There's a reason the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the benchmark for the full-size luxury segment. It's the go-to choice of transport for the wealthy elite because it delivers an experience that rivals from Rolls-Royce and Bentley that cost over double the price.

You'll find lots of high-end materials and plenty of touchscreen real estate, there to control a bunch of the newest technology.

We also like the hybridized AMG version

The GMA T.50 is a modern interpretation of the McLaren F1, which means it has the same seating layout that sees the driver in a central position, with a passenger over either shoulder.

It makes for an epic, unique experience, especially once you factor in the six-speed manual transmission, manual steering, and naturally aspirated V-12 engine out back.

What makes the Mercedes-Benz G-Class's cabin so appealing is its retro approach. While most new Benz dashboards are covered in acres of screens, the G-Wagen takes a decidedly old-school approach, with an upright, segmented design and plenty of real buttons.

There's still tons of new tech and a central touchscreen, of course, but we can't help but love utilitarian setup and dash-mounted grab handle.

The AMG version is our favorite

The Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 eschews the normal GLS's third row to give the second row a more lounge-like setting, with tons more legroom and space to lean back.

Like all Maybach-branded models, the GLS600 is slathered in all of the finest materials and equipped with the latest tech. There's even an active air suspension that can perform a number of clever tricks by quickly moving each wheel independently.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 might look like a hatchback, but it's far bigger than it looks in pictures. That means lots of space inside for storage and people. The dashboard area takes a minimalist approach, with two screens, a gear selector knob mounted to the steering column, and a small number of real buttons.

While some of the materials might not be spectacular to the touch, but everything is styling well and nice to look at. As a commuter car or daily driver, it's hard to ignore the Ioniq 5.

Price: $82,895

The BMW X7 is the ultimate all-rounder, delivering gobs of luxury and utility in a handsome, usable package. With three rows and lots of space, you can transport up to seven people and all of their things.

While the X7 doesn't have the most modern or sleek cabin within BMW's lineup, it delivers exactly what you expect from a sporty SUV that can also deliver a high-end experience.

The Genesis GV70 is one of the best luxury crossovers you can buy right now, and a lot of that has to do with the cabin. The interior design looks sleek and modern, but retains many of the physical buttons you'd want to keep around.

Factor in the high-quality materials for the upholstery and trim, and you get a highly compelling place to spend time, whether you're commuting or running errands around town.

The Acura Integra shares most of its bones with the Honda Civic, and in this case, that's not a bad thing. The Civic has one of the best interiors under $50,000. The Integra takes that lead and runs with it, with higher-quality materials and, if you get a stick, one of the best shifter feels on sale right now.

Go for the Integra Type S, and you also get some of the best seats on the market right now, with plenty of bolstering and lumbar support.

The front occupant area of the new BMW 7-Series is lovely, but we're most interested in the back seat. In addition to the personal screens you get on either rear door, there's also an available "theater screen" that drops down from the ceiling.

Measuring 31 inches diagonally, the 8K-capable theater screen features built-in Amazon Fire TV and 5G connectivity for streaming your favorite movies and TV shows. It's undoubtedly the ultimate back-seat experience right now.

Price: $89,995

Most of Audi's bigger cars use very similar interiors, with a monolithic dashboard stuffed with screens. There are three in total, one for the gauge cluster area, one in the center for infotainment, and another under that for climate control.

As with other German luxo-barges, all of the ergonomics are spot-on, with excellent build quality and lots of useable, fun tech. The A8 executes this philosophy best, especially when you option the rear two-seat layout, which comes with its own removable tablet to control the car's systems.

Price: $108,875

Range Rovers ace the niche of quiet luxury, both on the outside and in the cabin. There's nothing flashy or wild about the Range Rover's interior, with a minimalist layout that centers around a big screen mounted to the dash.

But all of the touch points feel expensive, and all of the upholstery is seriously high-quality. In cars like this, material quality and layout are just as important as new features.

The Kia Telluride represents a tremendous value proposition for those looking to squeeze the most out of every dollar, with three rows and nearly 300 hp for under 40 grand.

The Telluride is more than just basic transportation though, with a high-quality interior with lots of physical buttons and good materials. There's even a real section of buttons for the climate control—a rarity for new cars these days.
