Fraternity & Sorority Life is 150 years old to Spartan Nation. 13% of our undergraduate students are members of a Greek lettered organization, and over 4,800 students make up the fraternity and sorority community at Michigan State University.

We currently have 61 chapters that are a part of four governing councils including the Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, the National Pan-Hellenic Council, and the Panhellenic Council.

Admission is by invitation and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. The governing bylaws of the Society set extremely high standards for membership.

In order to join an undergraduate chapter, a potential new member who has established a collegiate GPA shall have at least a 2.50 collegiate GPA. A member organization, at its discretion, may establish a policy on minimum GPA requirements for joining that is higher than a 2.50.

Over the last 173 years, Greek Life at UM has grown exponentially to include 6,259 students across 62 fraternity and sorority chapters in 2017-2018. That's about 22 percent of UM's total undergraduate population.

Description and Eligibility: Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) is a national honor society for undergraduate and graduate students (https://www.phikappaphi.org/). To be eligible for membership, graduate students must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and be in the upper 10% of their class.

A cumulative college GPA at or above the all-men's average on campus; or. A cumulative college GPA at or above 2.7 on a 4.0 scale or an equivalent grade point index.

Here are the Phi Beta Kappa qualifications: Junior or senior standing. GPA of at least 3.7 for seniors or 3.9 for juniors. Pass a college-level pre-calculus course.

To become a member of Phi Kappa Phi, one must meet certain requirements. These include being in the top 10% of their class, having completed at least 72 credit hours of coursework, and maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.5. Additionally, students must be invited to join by their university's chapter of Phi Kappa Phi.
