Friday July 19, 2024

0541 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 33 in Willshire Township for a motor vehicle crash involving a deer, no injuries were reported.

0626 hrs. – Dispatched Ohio City EMS to a residence on Dull Robinson Road in Pleasant Township for a subject having difficulty breathing.

0753 hrs. – Dog Warden responded to a location on Main Street in Pleasant Township for a complaint of a loose dog.

0856 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Lincoln Highway in Pleasant Township to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

1001 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Westfield Drive in the Village of Middle Point to contact a resident for the Van Wert City Police.

1013 hrs. – Deputies along with Ohio City Fire and EMS responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash on U.S. Route 127 in Liberty Township. Units One and Two were traveling north on U.S. Route 127 with Unit One behind Unit Two. Unit Two slowed to make a left hand turn to travel west on Wren Landeck Road. Unit One then crossed the center line swiping the rear end of the driver side of Unit Two causing damage to both vehicles. Unit One was a 2024 Volvo 850 semi-truck driven by Sarmad Mughal of West Chester Ohio. Unit Two was a 2023 Ford F150 driven by Kenneth Streck of Beaver Creek Township Ohio. One passenger from the F150 was transported to Ohio Health by Ohio City EMS with possible injuries.

1143 hrs. – Dog Warden responded to an area of Lincoln Highway in Pleasant Township on a complaint of a loose dog in the roadway.

1344 hrs. – Dog Warden responded to an area of Main Street in the City of Van Wert on a complaint of a loose dog.

1416 hrs. – Dog Warden responded to an area of Main Street in the City of Van Wert for a loose dog.

1507 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of the Van Wert County Fair Grounds for an alarm.

1736 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Liberty Union Road in Pleasant Township for a complaint of reckless driving.

1749 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Adams Street in the Village of Middle Point for a suspicious person.

1752 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Main Street in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

1823 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Lincoln Highway in Pleasant Township to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

1929 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Van Wert Mercer County Line Road in Willshire Township to check an abandoned 9-1-1 call.

1949 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Kreischer Road in Harrison Township to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

2001 hrs. – Dispatched Middle Point EMS to a location on Fifth Street in the City of Delphos for a subject with chest pain.

2004 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 127 in Liberty Township for a report of a possible domestic.

2008 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Lambert Street in the Village of Ohio City for a report of a suspicious person.

2231 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Gamble Road in Ridge Township for a report of reckless driving.

2316 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of German Church Road in Harrison Township for a report of a underage party.

Saturday July 20, 2024

0020 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Bellis Road in Ridge Township for a complaint of forgery.

0132 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Shenk Road in Washington Township for a noise complaint.

0204 hrs. – Dispatched Wren and Willshire Fire to a report of a structure fire at 15907 Stateline Road in Willshire Township. Ohio City Fire, Van Wert Fire, along with Deputies and C.E.R.T. also assisted at the scene.

0342 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Mentzer Road in Tully Township to check an abandoned 911 call.

0548 hrs. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a location on Washington Street in the City of Van Wert for a subject who had fallen.

0600 hrs. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a residence on Kear Road in The City of Van Wert for a subject having difficulty with vision.

0817 hrs. – Deputies along with Ohio City Fire and EMS responded to the area of U.S. Route 127 and Wren Landeck Road in Liberty Township for a motor vehicle crash. Van Wert EMS also assisted at the scene. Unit One was travelling northbound on U.S. Route 127 when slowing down to make a left turn onto Wren Landeck Road. Unit Two was travelling Northbound on U.S. Route 127 when the driver on Unit Two swerved to avoid Unit One making the left turn and collided with Unit One. Unit One stated he was slowing down to about 35 mph to make the turn. Unit Two stated she was going 60 mph when attempting to pass Unit One. Unit Two was given a citation for NO Operators License. Unit One was a 2019 Honda Insight driven by Glen Olin of Sidney Ohio. Unit Two was a 2007 Toyota Camry driven by Belci Martinez of Greensboro, North Carolina. Both drivers were transported by EMS to Ohio Health for possible injuries.

0939 hrs. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a residence on Ervin Road in the City of Van Wert for a subject who had fallen.

1307 hrs. – Deputies along with Middle Point EMS responded to a report of a private property motorcycle crash at a location on Ringwald Road in Ridge Township. When units arrived, there was found to be no damage and the rider refused medical treatment.

1440 hrs. – Deputies assisted with a Funeral Escort from the City of Van Wert to Ridge Cemetery.

1518 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Church Road in Ridge Township for a report of a loose cow.

1540 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Lare Road in Tully Township for a report of a domestic dispute.

1732 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area Front Street in the Village of Wren to check an abandoned 911 call.

2203 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Dillon Street in the Village of Ohio City for a report of a possible fight.

2244 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Ringwald Road in Ridge Township on a complaint of a subject being disorderly. Eli David Jasztal age 36 of Van Wert was charged with Disorderly Conduct, a Minor Misdemeanor and Obstructing Official Business a Second-Degree Misdemeanor. The subject was transported to the Van Wert County Correctional Facility.

2349 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Dillon Street in the Village of Ohio City on a complaint of five subjects trespassing

Sunday July 21, 2024

0233 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Middle Point Wetzel Road in Washington Township to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

1257 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Gilbert Road in Jennings Township for a complaint of fraud.

1326 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 224 in Hoaglin Township to check the welfare of a subject walking.

1447 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Converse Roselm Road in Washington Township for a complaint of property damage.

1512 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on State Route 49 in Willshire Township to assist a motorist.

1518 hrs. – Deputies served a warrant issued by Van Wert County Common Pleas Court for Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a Second-Degree Felony. Emily Apple age 38 of Paulding Ohio is being held at the Van Wert County Correctional Facility.

1544 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Shane Street in the Village of Ohio City for a motor vehicle crash that occurred on private property. No injuries were reported.

1635 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Towne Center Boulevard to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

1646 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Shenk Road in Washington Township to check a open line 911 call.

1703 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to a residence on Mentzer Street in the Village of Convoy for a subject who had fallen.

2055 hrs. – Dispatched Middle Point Fire to a residence on Middle Point Wetzel Road in Jackson Township for a truck fire.
